Project: Under Gardiner Public Meeting

You are invited to attend the second public meeting for Project:
Under Gardiner and the related Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.
This public meeting will provide updates on the design, public consultation
to date, proposed air quality assessment and the Environmental
Assessment.

The Project
Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto are developing 4 hectares
(10 acres) of new public space on underused land under the Gardiner
Expressway. The space will connect seven neighbourhoods with a new
1.75-kilometre multi-use trail and spaces for cultural programming
between west of Strachan Avenue and Spadina Avenue.

The Environmental Assessment
Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto have initiated a Schedule ‘C’
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to study the municipal
infrastructure required for a new pedestrian crossing at Fort York Boulevard,
a component of the larger project. The study will follow the requirements
of Phase 1 through Phase 5 of the Municipal Class Environmental
Assessment to examine the need for the infrastructure and evaluate
alternative solutions and alternative design concepts.

How to Participate
If you are unable to attend the public meeting, the presentation and display
boards will also be made available online for viewing and public comment

Date: Tuesday May 31, 2016
Time: Presentation at 6:30 p.m., followed by an Open House at 8:00 p.m.
Location: Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre Gymnasium,
627 Queens Quay West, Toronto, ON M5V 3G3.
The nearest major intersection is Queens Quay West and Bathurst Street.

Transit: Take the 511 Bathurst streetcar south to Fleet Street. Walk south
to Queens Quay and east to the main entrance of the community centre.
OR: take the 509 Harbourfront streetcar from Union Station to Queens
Quay West at Dan Leckie Way West Side. Cross to the south side of
Queens Quay and then walk west to the main entrance of the
neighbourhood centre. Please use the TTC trip planner for additional options.
Accessibility: Barrier-free access to the neighbourhood centre is through
the main entrance at the northwest corner of the building.

REMINDER

Waterfront Transit "Reset" Public Meeting

We invite you to attend an upcoming public meeting for the Waterfront Transit "Reset" Phase 1 Study. Two public meetings have been scheduled - one at a location in the central waterfront and one at a location in the western waterfront. Both public meetings will include a presentation of the study progress to date and a range of transit concepts under consideration. Please choose the location convenient to you.

The Study
The City of Toronto, in partnership with the TTC and Waterfront Toronto is establishing a vision and plan for a comprehensive waterfront transit network.

During phase 1 of this study, we are reviewing existing waterfront transit, previously planned transit initiatives, and current and future transit needs.

A range of preliminary concepts are being developed and evaluated to help determine a preferred east-west waterfront transit solution that will integrate north/south transit and active transportation, linking people from across the City to the waterfront and its nearby destinations and attractions.

Your participation and feedback is important and will help shape the future of waterfront transit.

Open house begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by a presentation at 6:30 p.m.
Location: 235 Queens Quay West, Toronto, ON M5J 2G8 at Brigantine Room at Harbourfront Centre (major intersection is Queens Quay West and Lower Simcoe Street)

Location: 95 Mimico Avenue, Toronto, ON M8V 1R4 at John English Junior Middle School in the auditorium (closest major intersection is Royal York Road and Mimico Avenue)

Transit: Take the Bloor-Danforth (Line 2) subway to Royal York Station. Then take the 76A bus south to Mimico Avenue. Walk east on the south side of Mimico Avenue to John English Junior Middle School. OR Take the 501 Queen (Long Branch) streetcar to Mimico Avenue and walk west on the south side of Mimico Avenue to John English Junior Middle School. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility is at the auditorium entrance on Mimico Avenue.
